  আমার সকল রসের ধারা

  তোমাতে আজ হোক-না হারা।

         জীবন জুড়ে লাগুক পরশ,

         ভুবন ব্যেপে জাগুক হরষ,

                তোমার রূপে মরুক ডুবে

                      আমার দুটি আঁখিতারা।

  হারিয়ে-যাওয়া মনটি আমার

  ফিরিয়ে তুমি আনলে আবার।

         ছড়িয়ে-পড়া আশাগুলি

         কুড়িয়ে তুমি লও গো তুলি,

                গলার হারে দোলাও তারে

                      গাঁথা তোমার করে সারা।

PARDON ME, if in my pride,
O maiden of a century, yet to be born,
I picture you reading my poems,
While the moon fills the gaps in my verse with its shower of silence.
I seem to feel your heart throb and hear you murmur,
'If I were alive today and had we met he would love me.'
I know you say to yourself,
'Only for this night let me light my lamp for him at my balcony,
though I know he may never come.'

বসন্ত সে যায় তো হেসে, যাবার কালে
     শেষ কুসুমের পরশ রাখে বনের ভালে।
               তেমনি তুমি যাবে জানি,
          ঝলক দেবে হাসিখানি,
     অলক হতে খসবে অশোক নাচের তালে।
ভাসান-খেলার তরীখানি চলবে বেয়ে,
     একলা ঘাটে রইব চেয়ে।
          অস্তরবি তোমার পালে
               রঙিন রশ্মি যখন ঢালে
                    কালিমা রয় আমার রাতের
                        অন্তরালে।
