মনকে, আমার কায়াকে,
       আমি  একেবারে মিলিয়ে দিতে
              চাই এ কালো ছায়াকে।
                           ওই আগুনে জ্বালিয়ে দিতে,
                           ওই সাগরে তলিয়ে দিতে,
                           ওই চরণে গলিয়ে দিতে,
                                  দলিয়ে দিতে মায়াকে--
                                  মনকে, আমার কায়াকে।
      যেখানে যাই সেথায় একে
       আসন জুড়ে বসতে দেখে
       লাজে মরি, লও গো হরি
                    এই সুনিবিড় ছায়াকে
              মনকে, আমার কায়াকে।
                    তুমি আমার অনুভাবে
                    কোথাও নাহি বাধা পাবে,
                    পূর্ণ একা দেবে দেখা
                           সরিয়ে দিয়ে মায়াকে।
                           মনকে, আমার কায়াকে।

MANY A TIME when the spring day knocked at our door I kept busy with my work and you did not answer. Now when I am left alone and heart-sick the spring day comes once again, but I know not how to turn him away from the door. When he came to crown us with joy the gate was shut, but now when he comes with his gift of sorrow his path must be open.

I LIVE IN this little world of mine and am afraid to make it the least less.
Lift me into thy world and let me have the freedom gladly to lose my all.
